Scuba Diving In Cabo San Lucas — Women’s Cut Out V Wire One Piece Swimsuit Xhilaration

Thirteen years ago, my husband, Sigurd, and I went to Curacao for two weeks on our honeymoon.  It was magnificent.  And I finally realized why people have honeymoons.  After the hustle and bustle and high-level of stress associated with a wedding, it is SO important to take some time, just the husband and wife, and reconnect to remember why you got married in the first place.  Even if it’s the most “perfect” wedding you could have imagined, you are likely entertaining family, worried to ensure everyone is having a great time, wanting all your painstaking organization to go smoothly according to the plan.  And that’s exhausting.

Being on a vacation for two weeks enabled Sigurd and I to get Open Water Scuba Diver Certified. I had done some “Discover Scuba” diving in the past which is a two hour class that enables you to then do two relatively shallow dives. Since we had so much time on our honeymoon and some of the most beautiful waters in the world at our disposal, we took advantage of that and became certified!

After that, we went scuba diving on almost every trip we took.  We became certified in higher levels of diving such as Night Diving, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, and Rescue Diving.  We went on over 100 dives all over the world! We were certainly aware how fortunate we were to be two landlocked people from Texas who never went diving in anything but open water, never forced to dive in a murky lake.

When I became pregnant, I obviously stopped scuba diving while on vacation.  And after that, I just felt an uneasiness of being out in the water without my baby.  I know, I know, I’m a freak.  But on a recent trip to Cancun, I did a refresher Discover Scuba course and went on two dives.  It was a blast!  And it meant so much to my husband.  It’s something we did to commemorate our marriage, and it’s memories we accumulated during the course of our relationship.  So when I went out and rekindled that love of scuba, it was as if I was showing my husband and myself that we can prioritize varying things at varying times in our lives, but it will always come back to us.

On our recent office trip to Cabo San Lucas, we went on a really fabulous boat ride and Sigurd and I went diving.  One of Sigurd’s employees and our friend is a braid master, and she braided my hair in this scuba-friendly side braid in under five minutes!  I wish she could do this for me every day! So fun.

We saw a lobster, eels, rainbow fish, starfish, and sea lions!  The water was gorgeous but also pretty choppy, so I began to feel pretty seasick while heading out to the dive site.   Getting off that boat and going down to 90 feet underwater was a fabulous escape!

I love my cute and comfy swimsuit from Target.  It’s under $30 and a gorgeous, vibrant coral color and features an on-trend cutout in the front. It’s composition enables you to wear a one-piece swimsuit without feeling the least bit matronly.  It’s got great support, but admittedly I could have adjusted the girls before these pictures! Ha! I am wearing a small.

My cover up is a steal at UNDER $13 and free Prime Shipping!!! It comes in both white and black and is one size fits all.  Shop the exact items in my look by clicking on the pics below!  Happy Shopping!

Let me know if you snag any of the awesome above items or if you love scuba diving!  It’s an incredible way to see the world!
XOXO

  1. It really was! I think people write off the “Pacific Side” of the ocean too quickly and are missing out!
