This past Thursday, my blogger friend, Vanessa, invited me to the launch of an innovative new app, Rent My Wardrobe, that allows women to rent their clothes to other local women. It’s a pretty brilliant concept, backed by Kameron Westcott of the Real Housewives of Dallas. Not only do you get cash for your own clothes that are just sitting in your closet, but women who might not otherwise get to wear pretty, higher end things have a shot at it!
I’ll be honest that I will be interested to see how I feel about actually loaning out my clothes since I’m kind of a germ freak! I’ve set the prices high enough that even if I never wore them again, I wouldn’t operate at a loss. It’s kind of a personal algorithm of what I paid and how much I’ve worn them! But I do have three things listed for rent as of now! One of them I bought but never got around to wearing, so why not?
The event itself was SO MUCH FUN! Not only were they filming for the Real Housewives of Dallas so the people watching was divine, but most people there were local influencers or just people obsessed with fashion. I’m going to give it to you straight. I was SO nervous showing up as such a newbie blogger to an event with influencers and bloggers who have fifty and sixty thousand followers. Eek! But I have to say EVERYONE was so gracious, inclusive, and supportive! And I seriously got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on my outfit! Everybody was loving the Sex in the City vibe I threw out there for them. 🙂
My blouse and skirt are both from Chicwish, which I have found has great quality at excellent prices. The standard shipping time is a bit longer than most, but you can pay for expedited shipping, if necessary. The clothing runs true to their size chart, and I’m wearing a medium in both. I’m also obsessed with my sparkly shoes which were comfortable enough to wear all night! I sized up one half size in the shoes for comfort.
