Shirt: H&M // Shorts: H&M // Hat: Target // Shoes: Amazon // Minecraft Carry On: Target
You all knew it had to happen! Welcome to Espen’s debut on my blog! When I first found out I was having a baby boy, I started shopping. Not joking. I pretty quickly came to the realization that it was MUCH harder to find cute clothes for boys than girls. I mean seriously. Tutus and frilly itty bitty dresses basically fall from the sky into the hands of girl-moms. Meanwhile, the boys’ section has three variants of a white t-shirt. If you’re REALLY lucky, you’ll find a Paw Patrol t-shirt in the “fancy” boys’ section. Sigh. I mean, I’m not trying to put Espen in a tux every day, but I like for him to look put-together, too! I think I’ll keep him. Isn’t he so darn cute?!
Shirt:
H&M has awesome clothes for kids, in general, and boys in particular. From suspenders to fun fedoras, I’ve come to really appreciate the value in their inexpensive and trendy clothing. We all know kids wear things for approximately twenty seconds before growing out of them, so I love that I can dress Espen in cute, good quality clothes that don’t break the bank.
I love a button down short sleeved shirt for boys because you can dress up their look a bit while still keeping it easy and casual and cool. I adore the colors of this shirt on his sweetly Florida-tanned skin, but it comes in several other colors. You can choose from orange and white striped as seen on Espen, dark blue with stars, white, dark blue with anchors, and turquoise.
The Shorts:
I’m really pleased with these neutral chino shorts from H&M as they provide a perfect lightweight, put-together look and go with everything!
The Fedora:
I can’t STAND how cute boys look with fedoras! I thought Espen was so very “Florida” in this one. It is unfortunately temporarily out of stock, but if you enter your email, you can receive notification for when it’s back in. If you just can’t wait, I’ve included a similar option in the “Shop Espen’s Look” slider below.
The Shoes:
These Jumping Jack shoes are seriously sturdy. I bought them a while ago so the inventory is a little low, but they are still in incredible shape. They’re sold out at Nordstrom, but I found them on Amazon. If you like them, check out the link to see if they have your kiddo’s size!
The Minecraft Carry On:
A rolling carry-on is a serious must-have when traveling as a kid. I feel like backpacks cause so much strain on the back, and a rolling bag helps you get where you need to go in a faster and HAPPIER state of mind! The main compartment is perfect for snacks, iPad, headphones, and other activities, and the outer zipping pocket is great for easy access to chargers and other small gadgets. Plus, it’s Minecraft!
The Fit of It All:
The Shirt: Espen is an average-build guy, but he’s pretty rock solid. He will be 7 in three months (!), and the 6-7y size fits him well. I think he will be able to wear it for the entire summer.
The Shorts: Espen is also pretty average in height, and the shorts hit him a little longer than I thought they would. But they are comfortable for him and have an adjustable waist band. I’m glad I bought the 6-7y size because I know he’ll get a ton of use out of them. Looking at the picture, I realize I could have tightened the waist! Oops! Oh well, it was travel day, and I wanted him to be comfy on the plane!
The Shoes: Espen has his mommy’s feet. Sorry about that, Baby. He is wearing the 13 wide. I love a kids’ shoe that comes in wide!
